Overview

The Demant Finance Group Services Lead Payroll Tax Administrator is part of the Shared Services Payroll team, reporting into the Payroll Director. As part of the payroll team, this individual is responsible for leading multi-state, local and federal payroll tax compliance, planning and payroll tax processing. They will serve as the subject matter expert for tax considerations related to wage taxation, equity compensation, fringe benefits, state and local mandates and payroll tax reporting.

The Lead Payroll Tax Administrator is responsible for timely tax registration with the various Federal, State, and local authorities, resolution of payroll tax notices, updating state unemployment tax rates based upon notices received supporting multiple Business Units with over 20 FEIN's. This position is a highly critical and visible role that supports multiple stakeholders and will require strong organization, collaboration, and excellent customer service skills. This position will support both US and international employees working in the US. This role includes working with ADP regarding registration and setup of new jurisdictions, management and tracking of any potential state and local tax incentives and optimization of the State Unemployment Insurance rates.

This position will be based out of the Company's U.S. Headquarters, located in Somerset, NJ on a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities
    Responsible for registration, maintenance, and accurate set up of applicable federal, state, and local jurisdictions in ADP.
  • Ensure payroll tax filings, deposits are remitted timely and accurately by ADP
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll tax liabilities.
  • Evaluate, enhance, and document the end-to-end payroll tax processes, improving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct research, analysis and resolution to payroll related tax notices and inquiries from the federal, state, and local labor and tax agencies; ensures compliance with all such laws.
  • Reconcile quarterly wage and tax reports and returns.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders including, Finance, HR, and Benefits, to address payroll tax related inquiries and issues.
  • Responsible for federal and state agency audits related to withholding tax; coordinate with ADP on filing amended returns as needed.
  • Lead year-end payroll activities including W-2 processing.
  • Ensure payroll systems and processes are appropriately set up to remain compliance with state and local regulatory legislation related to payroll.
  • Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local tax laws to ensure compliance.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and update systems and processes accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain payroll related content for employee self-service ticketing system.
  • Responsible for maintaining and record keeping of appropriate payroll tax related records, inclusive of state log ins, POA's, registrations, filings, reports, etc. on shared drive in an organized and timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field
  • 5+ payroll tax experience, with 3-5 years' experience in multi-state, multi-company environment nice to have
  • Experience in ADP Workforce Now
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Detail oriented, with ability to focus on and comprehend numerical and financial data.
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, time-sensitivity, and follow-through continually expected.
  • Work involves highly confidential and sensitive information; discretion is essential.
