Job Overview:

This position is responsible for the day to day operations of the Pathology Office Area. Works with LIS/HIS staff to maintain functioning of Pathology Computer Network. Performs a daily work assignment in Anatomic Pathology.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 1 year supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication & H/R skills

Preferred:

  • College Degree

Essential Functions:

    • Business Acumen / Operational Effectiveness
    • Ensures the turnaround time and delivery of clinical reports to physicians and their offices. Monitors outstanding work and expedites the completion of Surgical, Cytology, and Autopsy cases. Maintains records of send out work & consults. Reviews vendor and patient billing prior to payment. Generates frozen section, turn around time and special reports from L.I.S. Generates grossing and on-call schedules for Pathologists.
    • Communication
    • Works with Nursing Services to coordinate autopsy services. Establishes, monitors and enhances communication channels that enables open communication.
    • Leadership
    • Oversees day to day operations of Pathology office Area. Creates and sustains an environment in which people are productive, highly motivated and committed to common goals. Takes the initiative is self-starting and self-directed in order to achieve goals.
    • People Management
    • Schedules, supervises, assigns workload and evaluates performance of office Assistant. Assists with projects for the Laboratory Administrative and Medical Director as well as Staff Pathologists. Works with L.I.S. & H.I.S. Staff to ensure smooth operations of Computer Pathology Network.
    • Personal Learning / Self-Management
    • Operates with a high degree of autonomy and authority while working within the framework of CMMC s philosophy and policies. Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to keep abreast of the latest trends in hospital/department/administration services.
