Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Revenue Cycle Analyst.

In this role, the successful candidate works with the management team of Revenue Cycle Operations to drive business value by supporting revenue cycle management in the analysis of revenue cycle data as well as proactive identification of process improvement opportunities and applying analytical and critical thinking to generate innovative and practical solutions to revenue cycle issues. The Denials Prevention Analyst identifies trends and determines root causes in order to reduce all denials, and significantly minimize preventable denials.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Develop awareness of and familiarity with denial reasons, services, and payers affecting NYULMC's finances and apply knowledge to evaluation, analysis, and interpretation of data
    • Maintain denial databases and conduct strategic analysis to include in monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc reports
    • Proactively work with multidisciplinary teams to reduce and eliminate future denials
    • Identify and examine the root causes of denials, and work with other departments in the Revenue Cycle and beyond to improve operations
    • Work closely with RCO management to identify issues and trends
    • Develop a process to routinely share denial metrics to various outpatient hospital departments
    • Assist with developing efficient and effective outpatient denial management work flows and operations
    • Performs complex data analysis of denial dashboards with the goal of delivering sophisticated analysis products in report or presentation format
    • Develops programs, methodologies, and files from analyzing and presenting data with the goal of well organized, well-written, documented and maintained data files
      • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Must have a Bachelors degree
Must have at least 2-3 years of experience
Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of productivity-based computer software (MS Office)
Must be familiar with medical terminology and hospital medical billing guidelines

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred
Experience using Epic computer software is preferred
Advanced knowledge of Excel and Tableau

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $41,977.18 - $55,515.49 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
