Job Summary

Do you enjoy working with data to translate information into insight and using research to solve pressing issues in US health care? UTSW is seeking an individual with these interests - along with exceptional data management, analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills to join the Division of General Internal Medicine as a Population Project Research Assistant II. The individual in this position will join a dynamic growing research unit and support data management and analysis efforts in health policy, population health, and health services research studies. This important role is well-suited for motivated self-starters interested in working with national experts and building expertise in health care data. This position supports and assist Principal Investigator, Dr. Joshua Liao, and Clinical Research Coordinators by performing a variety of research duties such as assisting with preparation of required documents for IRB review and approval, preparing protocols, library reference materials search for necessary project information/literature reviews; compiling data and producing reports to be used for analysis of research findings; and assisting with developing and submitting grants.

Experience and Education

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor\'s degree in related field with 1-2 years' experience required.
  • Prefer bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
Job Duties
  • Recruit and screen participants for multiple research projects; recruitment may take place on or off campus or via telephone.
  • Schedule appointments, obtain consent forms, explain study to participant and collect data. Interview participants for assigned research projects; interviews may be in person, in clinical setting, subject\'s residence or by telephone.
  • Travel to recruitment sites as needed.
  • Compile and verify the accuracy of research information based on quality criteria; abstract, classify and code data.
  • Perform a variety of research duties such as library reference materials search for necessary project information.
  • Performs literature searches, document results and discuss results with supervisor.
  • Perform medical records abstractions, data coding and data entry.
  • Compile data and produce reports to be used for analysis of research findings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
