The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Development Marketing and Senior Director of Donor Relations, this position supports the Columbia College Donor Relations and Development Marketing teams providing administrative support for the College's broad-based development communications and donor stewardship efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a liaison between donors and staff, which may include receiving, organizing and responding to correspondence and telephone calls. This may involve handling inquiries and directing to other departments or staff, as appropriate.
  • Manages data, which may include processing gifts, updating and adding relevant information to the University's alumni record database, and pulling and manipulating reports.
  • Prepares or assists with email communications and physical mailings to alumni, parents, and friends of Columbia College, which may include pulling lists and reviewing them for accuracy, drafting and editing copy, and assuring adequate mailing supplies.
  • Provides support for appointments, events and meetings, which may include scheduling, assisting with planning, coordinating with vendors, arranging the use of facilities, tracking RSVPs, preparing materials, briefings and staffing plans, and staffing.
  • Assists in Salesforce MarketingCloud email management, which may include uploading send lists, scheduling and sending emails, and tracking email send information.
  • Works with outside vendors, which may include sourcing pricing for purchases, managing deliveries, and processing invoices.
  • Makes travel arrangements and submits travel reimbursement documents and expense reports.
  • Performs other related duties as required, including project work related to development activities at Columbia College.

Minimum Qualifications

* High School diploma or its equivalent required.
* A minimum of three years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
* Must have experience with Microsoft Suite including mail merges and spreadsheets.
* Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Must be well-organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently, as well as in a group setting.
* Possesses outstanding interpersonal skills - an ability to interact well with faculty, staff, alumni and other constituents.
* Possesses the ability to plan, prioritize and balance the workload of several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

* Some college preferred.
* Work supporting fundraising efforts in a university or other complex not-for-profit environment.
* Familiarity with complex databases desired.
