JOB SUMMARY

The Trademark Analyst serves as a subject matter expert internally and externally on all trademark matters related to both verbal and visual branding. This role is responsible for screening both name and logo candidates and clearly articulating rationale to internal and client teams. This role is the cornerstone of our VETT process and must be confident in all steps of the process.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts knock-out and in-depth screening of creative name candidates through trademark, URL, and other legal screening databases
  • Evaluates, documents, and reports findings to both internal teams and clients
  • Works in a consultative manner to provide guidance to creative team and assist in naming/nomenclature project needs
  • Timely and efficient delivery specific to name lists and presentation preparation
  • Independently manages a fast-paced workload with multiple deliverables and shifting deadlines
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal departments
  • Contributes to the development of educational and thought leadership content
  • May interact with clients on a consultative basis, offering information and insights to guide sound trademark decision-making
  • Articulate with internal teams and capable of presenting findings to clients live or via teleconference

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (please indicate if preferred or required)

  • Bachelors degree- required
  • Minimum of 3 years of trademark search experience- required
  • Experience with pharmaceutical trademarks- highly preferred
  • Experience with trademark search platforms such as Corsearch or Saegis- required
  • Ability to work independently- required
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products- required
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills- required
  • A natural inquisitive curiosity in etymology, linguistics, and word play
  • Approach challenges as a problem solver- required
  • Prior experience as trademark paralegal, trademark analyst, or working within a branding/naming agency is highly preferred
  • Improves products and capabilities by providing constructive feedback to the VP, Trademarks
  • Efficient with time management and able to successfully complete multiple projects under tight deadlines- required
  • Flexible time management and ability to shift priorities as needed- required
  • Prior experience working with a branding firm, brand name development, trademark review, or screening is preferred
  • Working knowledge or understanding of foreign language/translation- preferred

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $50-70/hr but may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role.
