Position Summary: We are seeking a visionary Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead our marketing efforts and position Heroku as a leader in the cloud service industry. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic vision, innovative marketing strategies, and a customer-centric approach to drive growth and enhance our market presence. This role requires a leader who can navigate the competitive cloud computing landscape, leverage Salesforce's ecosystem for integrated marketing efforts, and inspire a team to achieve excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with Heroku's mission and Salesforce's standards and values, focusing on market leadership and innovation.

  • Lead brand management, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging across all channels.

  • Oversee market research and analytics to inform strategic decisions and identify market opportunities.

  • Foster strategic partnerships and collaborations to enhance Heroku's ecosystem and customer value proposition.

  • Drive customer engagement and loyalty through targeted digital marketing campaigns and initiatives.

  • Leverage Salesforce's ecosystem for integrated marketing initiatives, enhancing cross-functional collaboration and innovation.

  • Manage and inspire the marketing team to achieve outstanding results, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing activities, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure growth targets are met.

  • Drive development and execution of go-to-market plans for new product launches and feature releases to ensure successful product adoption.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior marketing leadership role, ideally within the cloud services industry. IaaS, PaaS, or developer ecosystem experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing successful marketing strategies in a competitive landscape

  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Exceptional ability to drive and evaluate content quality and efficacy across marketing channels including events, SEO, SEM, content marketing, and social media.

  • A track record of driving growth and enhancing brand visibility and loyalty.
