Medical Certified Asst/BA

POSITION SUMMARY:

MA (CMA/RMA): Performs a variety of clinical and technical functions in relation to patient care and general office duties in applicable Center under the general guidance of the Charge Nurse, Practice Manager, staff physician, and/or Medical Director. BA I: Performs a variety of front desk activities that support the Center and professional staff and performs a variety of essential services (checking-in, checking-out, etc.) as directed or requested by the Business Associate II and/or Practice Manager. BA II: Performs front desk activities that support he Center and professional staff and performs a variety of essential services (checking-in, checking-out, etc.) as directed or requested by the Practice Manager in support of the Business Associate I functions.

EDUCATION:

MA (CMA/RMA): High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a formal Medical Assistant program that is recognized by the State of New Jersey. BA I/II: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of formal coursework in office management, databa



EXPERIENCE:
MA (CMA/RMA): Previous MA experience in a clinic, physician's office or outpatient setting preferred or eligibility for certification required. BA I: Six (6) months of previous customer service/data entry, administrative/office management/clerical experie

SPECIAL SKILLS:
Medical Assistant: Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred. Certified Medical Assistant: Current and valid certification as a certified medical assistant or registered medical assistant required. BCLS certification required. Understanding of the operations of a medical practice preferred. Strong orientation towards the provisions of high quality, cost effective and comprehensive medical care. Ability to use effective organizational and time management to set priorities and respond quickly to urgent/emergent situations. Strong communication--both oral, written and presentation skills to convey information in a clear and concise manner to persons of varied age groups, customers and/or groups. Ability to create, maintain and support a high functioning team; establish and foster cooperative working relationships with staff and management; and function effectively as a part of that team. Demonstrates behavior that is courteous, caring, respectful, and compassionate at all times. Demonstrates ability to listen and respond in a non-judgmental manner, with clear expectations.
