Job Description

Position Purpose:

Be a part of Veolia's North America corporate Development, Strategy, and Innovation department that supports all business lines in North America (water, waste, and energy). The Project Manager Innovation (PMI) will:

  • Manage innovation projects in coordination with transversal teams. The PMI will be in charge of coordinating business models, engineering studies, installation of pilots, stakeholders communication, and project reporting. This role requires good project management skills, engineering experience, and ideally, knowledge in procurement, construction, and contacts / agreements. Here are examples of projects to be managed: decarbonization projects, including carbon capture, wastewater reuse projects, and EV battery recycling.
  • Lead strategic partnerships with incubators, accelerators, and academics.
  • Lead technology and startup evaluations methods, reporting with subject matter experts.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of project planning and execution: work breakdown structure, schedule, milestones, resources, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources, including strong cooperation with technical teams.
  • Define resources profiles and needs, methods, processes, workload, and task delegation.
  • Resolve issues that arise during a project and identify the most efficient pathway to achieve the goals.
  • Ensure that the deliverables are fulfilled on time and within budget.
  • Conduct regular progress meetings and prepare meeting materials.
  • Report concise or detailed information when ever needed.
Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Process, Environmental).
  • Five years of experience in project management or engineering role.
  • Two years of experience in managing innovation projects.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent leadership skills, coordination abilities, and motivational skills.
  • Innovator skills such as questioning, observing, networking, and experimenting.
  • Good at creating processes and tools to accelerate the delivery of projects.
  • Collaborative and creative team player with a drive for innovation and continuous improvement of systems, processes, and tools.
  • Experienced in using project management software and ideation tools.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational, project management, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
  • Successfully handles multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Handles confidential or sensitive business information or issues with discretion.
  • Open to learning new skills and taking on new responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Business travel will be required for: major meetings, events, projects.
