We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Strat (Quantitative) Trading to join our Markets team. This role is located in New York City - HYBRID.

Role Overview:

This team works in the FX, Fixed Income & Equities (FIEQ) business within Global Markets Tradingto deliver algorithmic and quantitative trading strategies to enable automated price generation, streaming, risk management and analytics across the product lines. This role specifically will lead the FIEQ project as we upgrade the capabilities and infrastructure of this business. The FX & FIEQ Strat team is a focused group based in London and Singapore, and this role will add to this to bring a fully Global capability, working closely with First- and Second-line teams.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Fixed Income & Equities Pricing Algorithm
    • Own the FIEQ algorithmic trading systems within the team's development framework, taking responsibility for development and maintenance of these algorithms;
    • Working with FIEQ trading desks to identify algorithm extensions and opportunities and developing, testing and launching those extensions;
    • Working with FIEQ technology teams to maintain production environment and integration of Strat systems within the wider Firm's systems;
    • Improving MIS and reporting quality for FIEQ products by leveraging existing Strat capabilities which are currently focused on FX.
  • FIEQ Algorithms
    • Coordinate with wider FIEQ business to identify new opportunities for algorithm development;
    • Work with FIEQ technology, sales and trading teams to implement and launch new algorithms.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • FX and FIEQ Regional SME
      • Provide secondary support for eFX algorithms;
      • Support Strat management as regional delegate, including, as appropriate, regional Change Management delegation
    • FX Pricing and Hedging Algorithms
      • Contributing to development and maintenance of common eFX and eFIEQ software systems;
      • Contribute to cross-training between FX and FIEQ Strat members.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's or higher degree preferred
  • 6+ years total working experience preferred
  • Track record of self-directed innovation
  • Background in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Quantitative Analytics, or Trading preferred
  • Experience in coding and development essential, knowledge in Java or C++ language preferred
  • Experience in data analytics and databases essential, knowledge of KDB preferred;
  • Background in data management, data structures or performance optimization is advantageous
  • Background in AI systems is advantageous;
  • Exposure to FIEQ products and FX preferred

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $66,000 and $147,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
