Position Summary:


We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst.

The Data Analyst for the Department of Radiology supports department-wide data collection, analysis, distribution, governance, and strategic data initiatives. This position reports to the Director of Radiology Analytics. This position is responsible for database, dashboard, analytic, and data reporting support as well as conducting projects affiliated with all missions. The role involves developing and managing databases, designing and managing data collection methods, statistical data analysis, creating reports and information products, and data visualization to present to departmental leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Extracts data from the medical centers data warehouse via Oracle SQL Developer and HUE
    • Creates/maintains complex SQL codes and stored procedures that feed and refresh the data models
    • Conducts analysis by compiling data, managing data bases, analyzing data and presenting results in numerical and graphic formats
    • Assists department leadership in conducting process analysis, problem identification and root cause analysis, organization and environmental analysis and formulating recommendations for improvement
    • Plays an active role in providing data for operational improvements
    • Provides analytic insights and creates dashboards with the use of Tableau/Tableau Prep for end users to assist in decision-making and monitoring of performance.
    • Responsible for managing and improving existing databases; developing programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data
    • Work with clinical, administrative and operational data, and responsible for analyzing and presenting data; performing data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing requests
    • Research new data sources and analytical tools/methodologies; contribute to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentation
    • Performs additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Public Health, Computer or Systems Engineering or related field that further developed your expertise in the business of health and healthcare
1-2 (+) years of experience in writing complex SQL, including complex joins, subqueries, and aggregation
1 (+) years of data analytics experience using data visualization software such as Tableau
Proven ability to create concise reports based upon specifications requested by management
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced proficiency in Excel
Attention to detail, especially with regard to data visualization
Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Public Health, Computer or Systems Engineering or related field that further developed your expertise in the business of health and healthcare
3+ years of professional experience
2+ years of SQL programming experience
Understanding of enterprise data warehouse, subject-matter data marts, and complex data models.
Prior experience as a healthcare data analyst or business analyst working with clinical EHR (Epic Clarity) data
General understanding of hospital claims datasets, healthcare departmental/clinical operations, workflow, policies, and procedures

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $112,951.35 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
