Description

SUMMARY

Hallmark Media is seeking a talented and motivated Manager to join the FP&A team specializing in the streaming business. You will run core FP&A responsibilities and be a key business partner to our SVOD business unit. The role will be responsible for forecasting, setting metrics, reporting and performance analysis, investment decisions, strategic planning, cash flow management, and driving incremental efficiencies and automation where possible. You will report to and partner closely with the Director, Finance, as well as offer support to the SVP, Finance and EVP, Streaming & Digital Platforms for any ad hoc modeling or analytical requests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement, maintain, and enhance detailed and dynamic financial models to support quarterly forecasts, budgeting, and long-range planning for business unit P&L and cash flow.
  • Manage the detailed SVOD subscriber model, including projecting future subscribers and updating with actual performance.
  • Monitor all business performance KPIs such as free trial starts, net adds, churn, and LTV.
  • Manage and deliver on operational and analytical processes connected to each accounting period close, including accruals, variance analysis, management reporting, and/or model recalibrations as necessary.
  • Ensure reporting from third-party partners is timely and accurate and conduct appropriate variance reporting against budgets and forecasts.
  • Aggregate monthly reporting from all distribution partners and ensure accuracy between subscriber and financial reporting.
  • Provide monthly financial and subscriber reporting to key leadership and senior management.
  • Meet monthly with the respective SVOD business area leads to review business performance, update forecasts, and ensure accurate accrual and expense management.
  • Identify and create business metrics dashboards to better understand the operational and financial health of the business and drive improvement.
  • Identify operating improvements, conduct deep dive cost analysis, and analyze business opportunities/investments as needed.
  • Perform accurate and timely cash flow management.
  • Perform strategic review and financial analysis for current or future business opportunities as requested by senior management.
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-7 years' experience in a finance setting/FP&A preferably at a technology and/or media company.
  • BA/BS in Finance/Accounting (or other quantitative field a plus).
  • Experience with data transformation and visualization tools such as PowerQuery, Power BI, and Tableau.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • MBA preferred, but not required.
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills and proficiency with MS Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of the entertainment industry and streaming business.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance concepts and accounting principles.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, managing multiple stakeholders and building relationships across the company.
  • Effective communication/presentation skills with a proven history of presenting complex analyses to executives/senior management clearly and concisely.
  • Initiative-taking approach in anticipating business needs with an elevated level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The salary range for this job is between $88,100- $118,200. Salary rate will take into consideration several factors including location.
