Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and talented Staff Associate III to provide feedback on the experimental research for undergraduate students provide engineering support for resident research fellows, and interdisciplinary collaborative project development with Orthopedic Surgery attendings.

Responsibilities:

  • Carries out research projects with limited supervision, both collaboratively and independently
  • Prioritize available lab resources with lab director to schedule experiments
  • Work with available personnel (grad students, residents, med students, undergrad students) to schedule availability and manning of research protocols.
  • Works with a team to troubleshoot research and testing protocols.
  • Develop initial testing protocols after discussion with lab director and Pl
  • Summarizes and explains information to others.
    Draft abstracts and manuscripts for meetings and publication
    Prepare Powerpoint presentations on ongoing work to present to Divisional research meetings for which the project resides

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have technical expertise in biomechanics, mechanical testing, specimen preparation, and a background in PID control theory.
  • Knowledge of MTS testin s system. Knowledge of In stron testing system. Knowledge of the qualisy motion capture system.
  • Knowledge of the Teksan pressure measurement system.
  • Have excellent written communication skills, particularly the ability to clearly record data in written form or on a computer and to write and maintain experimental protocols.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomechanical Engineering or related field and 4-6 years experience
