We are seeking a full- timepediatric neuropsychologist positionproviding consultation and evaluation services to children, adolescents, and families as part of collaborative team within our hospital's Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) Service. The focus of the position is to lead the build of the IBH neuropsychology program (e.g., administrative workflows, billing models, documentation) and oversee the program's neuropsychology attendings and trainees. The neuropsychologist will also provide services within our ambulatory subspecialty clinic divisions collaborating in the care of children, adolescents, and young adults with a range of medical conditions.Additionally, the neuropsychologist will utilize clinical time to supervise doctoral-level neuropsychology students and fellows working within the service. The position will include leadership in the development of standardized referral pathways and educational series for staff, medical providers, and students on the neurocognitive and developmental impacts for youth with chronic medical conditions.
The position carries an academic appointment within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which is one of only two independent child and adolescent psychiatry departments within an academic medical center in the nation.
The IBH neuropsychologist hired in this role will report to the Director of Psychology, Hassenfeld Children's Hospital. Supervision and mentorship will also be available from other seasoned neuropsychologists in the Department and across the NYU health system.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Lead the build of the neuropsychology program (e.g., administrative workflows, billing models, documentation).
* Oversee IBH program neuropsychology attendings and trainees.
* Conduct a needs assessment across medical divisions, including but not limited to cardiology, solid organ transplant, hematology/oncology, and pulmonology, in partnership with Director of Psychology, Hassenfeld Children's Hospital.
* Provide consultation to medical providers across ambulatory subspecialty care divisions and programs
* Provide evidenced-based evaluation of and school advocacy for patients and families coping with acute, chronic, and life-threatening illness
* Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to partner on referrals and offer consultation on neuropsychological and educational issues
* Develop standardized referral pathways for neuropsychology across medical divisions in partnership with the Director of Psychology, Hassenfeld Children's Hospital
* Chart patient visits using an electronic medical record
* Triage and refer patients as needed to collaborating colleagues across disciplines, departments, and communities
* Provide teaching and supervision of residents, psychology and other trainees
* Participate in training Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry trainees
* Contribute to quality improvement and clinical research efforts within this patient population
* Collaborate on programmatic development for the IBH care continuum

Preferred Qualifications
Prior clinical experience in pediatric psychology and neuropsychology settings. Prior experience in program development and evidence-based assessment of patients with chronic medical conditions and their families. Strong interest in clinical supervision, leadership, quality improvement, and research.
