Job Description

The Director of Global GTM Strategy and Planning will evolve our long-term growth strategy to accelerate Datadog's next phase of growth. This highly visible position will collaborate with Datadog executives and cross-functional leadership to identify and address the most significant inhibitors of revenue growth while rolling out transformation programs that materially improve the business globally.

In this role, you will inspire an exceptional team to conceptualize, implement, and refine initiatives across the company in the face of ambiguous challenges. We seek an enthusiastic people leader who can attract and coach top talent, while being able to manage both direct and skip-level reports seamlessly. You should be excited about anticipating and answering big questions from our C-level daily and using hypothesis-based problem solving techniques rooted in data to build compelling business cases for new investment areas. Your team will also own optimization of day-to-day sales capacity across the world in a rapidly growing and dynamic space. You are someone who thrives in high growth environments, finds fulfillment in truly connecting and empathizing with a wide range of global stakeholders, and enjoys both blue sky growth strategy and "in the weeds" operations with a high level of attention to detail.

What You'll Do:

  • Apply direct experience owning global strategy and planning for a hyper-growth technology company

  • Prioritize talent development, leave people better than you found them by applying a growth mindset approach, and coach directs to regularly present to our executive team

  • Proactively raise and validate innovative ideas that will significantly move the needle for the overall company

  • Prepare business cases for executive approval and then prioritize and sequence initiative roll out to do fewer things better

  • Take a "One Datadog" approach in standing up new initiatives, ensuring upfront input and ongoing alignment across all GTM & regional teams from both a strategic and operational lens

  • Monitor and refine the performance of long-term initiatives by setting targets, analyzing leading and lagging KPIs, reviewing dashboard metrics, and preparing executive QBRs/board presentations

  • Develop recommendations for sales and marketing headcount/OPEX investment during annual planning, design sales compensation plans, optimize global sales and marketing capacity, and manage sales quotas

  • Anticipate and address problems and opportunities proactively

  • Take intelligent risks and dream big while learning from mistakes

  • Laugh with the team every day

Who You Are:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience across GTM strategy and operations, consulting, banking/PE/VC, or high growth tech

  • 4+ years of direct people management experience, including experience managing people managers

  • Experience developing and operationalizing GTM strategy at a global scale to accelerate revenue

  • Excellent executive presentation skills

  • Strong project management and organization

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail with a parallel ability to zoom out

  • Strong track record of rolling up sleeves to drive impact and get stuff done

  • Exceptional analytical and modeling skills

  • BA/BS

  • MBA or equivalent

  • 4+ years of high tech sales and marketing strategy experience in a top consulting firm

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. $178,000-$261,000 USD
