Performs a variety of duties to prepare unit for non-invasive and/or invasive cardiovascular procedures
Ensures all instrumentation/equipment for each procedure is presented on table in established fashion
Prepares sterile field for procedures and adheres to aseptic technique, as required. Obtains and prepares physician equipment for procedure to be performed
Prepares patient for procedure. Responds to patients questions alleviating concerns regarding procedure. Ensures patient is correctly prepped and draped in a sterile fashion. Enters patient and procedural information into computer system
Monitors patient status during procedure, including hemodynamic data, electrocardiogram, blood pressure, chest pain, etc
Collects all pertinent data and calculations for physicians interpretation of results
Balances, calibrates and records appropriate hemodynamic data as well as intervenes in cardiopulmonary emergencies
Operates equipment properly in a reliable manner, per departmental standards, complying with all safety guidelines/policies
