What We Need:

Code Corporation is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work in our Murray, Utah office location. The individual filling this position will lead all mechanical engineering efforts in our industrial category. This includes: Managing a broad range of engineering tasks within the category and delegating work to more junior level engineers; Mentoring and instructing junior engineers on industry standards and internal best practices; Designing and innovating in the product category utilizing mechanical engineering skills. Working directly as a 3D modeler, designer, and physical part tester; Creating and presenting detailed updates to upper management; Performing Cross functional communication to finalize bill of materials and testing data for a broad range of products; Performs numerous mechanical engineering tasks with silicone injection molding and prototyping.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading and teaching our team in regards to design, prototyping, and mass producing silicone parts including gaskets, light guides, and buttons.
  • Designing for ingress protection and in building product-specific test plans.
  • Create processes used by our large mechanical engineering team and give weekly training.
  • Updates and improves our mechanical engineering tools including drawing templates, SolidWorks workflow, and PDM updates.
  • Maintains project budgets, timelines, and targets, and will work with mechanical engineering tools like: Optical CMM, Force gauge, 3D printing, rapid prototyping, laser cutting, injection molding, and more.
  • Must take projects from ID concept, through engineering, to product release and will work with Code manufacturing to identify issues on existing products requiring revisions while also driving new product development.
  • Will utilize a broad understanding of mechanical engineering principles related to plastic injection molding and must complete and review tolerance stacks for multi-component mechanisms.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and at least 5 years of progressive Mechanical Engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and at least 3 years of progressive Mechanical Engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • 3 years of experience using SolidWorks and EPDM and SolidWorks Plastics.
  • 3 years of experience in generating, compiling, and controlling product documentation, drawings, ECO's and technical data sheets.
  • 3 years of experience in various manufacturing processes, including injection molding
  • 3 years of Experience in an Agile/Scrum workflow.
  • 3 years of experience designing products for Healthcare/Industrial/Automotive/Commercial Environments
  • 3 years of Experience with JIRA, Confluence and SharePoint.
