WLUK has an immediate opening for a creative News Producer and Content Creator! The News Producer role offers an abundance of creativity every day. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts, by writing news content, creating graphics and organizing the content and appearance of the newscast. This is an excellent entry level position for a bachelor's degree graduate preferred (associate degree graduate considered). Preferred areas of study include Journalism, Communications, Political Science, Writing, English.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Solid news judgment
• Be a compelling and accurate writer
• Be able to multitask and manage time in order to put together an exciting and informative newscast
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
• Flexibility
• Ability to learn new software - openness to accept change

Experience:

• This is an entry level position - we will provided training and support.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred - Associate Degree considered
• A journalism degree is preferred
• College/University experience at student media outlets (newspaper, digital, broadcast) is preferred
• Professional Internship is preferred
