Position Overview

This position includes media blasting, priming, and painting of heavy equipment and associated components, sub-assemblies, and accessories. Applicants must be able to work in a heavy equipment environment and be comfortable working on ladders, under and inside of heavy equipment chassis and associated components.

Responsibilities

  • Prep-for-paint heavy equipment and associated components
  • Prime and paint sub-assemblies and assemble components
  • Media blast all components in preparation for final prime and paint
  • Read and understand paint safety procedures
  • Utilize PIT for movement of chassis and other associated parts when required
  • Be comfortable working in a heavy construction environment
  • Be goaled oriented as it pertains to production painting
  • Be open, understanding, and inclusive of other TM differences
  • Adhere to Terex safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to and promote The Terex Way Values
  • Follow all safety regulations for themselves as well as other team members, including keeping the work area clean and in orderly condition as well as wearing all appropriate safety attire for the job that is being performed.
  • Work as a team member to meet production demands set for the day
  • Prime/ paint components utilizing common paint tools such as stationary and portable paint systems, sanders and liquid cleaners as needed
  • Support the team on continuous improvement
  • Maintain clean work area and participate in 5s standards
  • Maintain tools and equipment in working condition- light maintenance may be required at times.
  • Troubleshoot basic issues and problems
  • Flex into other areas and departments as needed
  • All other paint duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong orientation toward quality, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Operates and maintain all paint/ blast associated equipment
  • Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and be able to work 10 hours per day, plus overtime when required
  • Ability to work in heated booths
  • Ability to start work at 5:00am is required
  • Use of hand and pneumatic tools if required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year previous painting experience is required
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Previous experience working in a heavy equipment environment is desired
  • Familiarity with a manufacturing environment is desired
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements of the Job

Physical requirements of the job are classified as medium to heavy. Physical demand requirements are in excess of light work. Medium to heavy work is defined as:

  • 10 to 40 pounds of force frequently, may include pushing, pulling, and lifting
  • 40 to 100 pounds of force occasionally with assistance of machinery or others to move objects
  • Ability to stand on concrete for 10+ hours per shift

The compensation for this position is $19.19 - $22.38 per hour dependent on experience.
